She of the Shore: A Poem

A poem by Sarah Day.

I like to see her lap the towers

and lick the castles up,

stop to fill the rocky pools

and step around the cliffs to peer

in dark caves before she chases

herself in foam, only to become

billowing silk beneath wan light.
